Portulaca grandiflora also known as moss rose, office time, eleven o'clock is the best annual flowering plants that profusely produce flowers in whole summer.
Portulaca grows best in dry, sandy soil and loves hot dry summer days. Usually these plants will die in winter because of its succulent nature and resistance to low temperatures. Special care needs to be done in order to survive through winter. I follow the below mentioned points in winter and successfully save them from dying.
Care for Portulaca plant in winter:
- Move pots to a location where it gets full sunlight during whole day.
- At night move portulaca pots indoor or cover them with polythene.
- Thin stems needs to removed after rotting. thick stems will survive easily.
As soon as temperature starts increasing portulaca will start blooming. Add fertilizer and restore water quantity. I hope you liked my post. keep commenting, I would love to assist you.
