Plant propagation by Air Layering is one of the most suitable technique to make copies of your favorite plants.
In this post, I will share how you can propagate your Jasmine Sambac (Mogra, Motia) plant using Air Layering method with 100% success rate.
Air layering will give superb results in spring when your plant is actively growing.
Things required:
- cutter/knife
- soil/cocopeat
- polythene bag/material for wrapping
Procedure:
- Select a healthy and thick branch of jasmine sambac and scratch stem just below node about 1 inch until you see inner layer (cambium layer).
- Prepare soil or cocopeat and make it wet.
- Put soil or cocopeat around the area where we scratched the stem.
- Cover it with polythene bag and tie firmly.
- After 1 month you will be able to see roots (depends on season as well).
- When roots emerge, cut below the area we wrapped and plant it in separate pot.
Congratulations, your jasmine sambac plant copy is ready to spread happiness to your house.
